Hanford Reach Guided Fishing

Hanford Reach is located in the middle of Washington; the area can best be described as a desert. Within that area is the wildest section of river in the Columbia River basin, the Hanford Reach. The Hanford Reach is one of the most talked about and world renowned fisheries we participate in. Hanford provides the best opportunity to wrestle with the Chinook of a lifetime and occasionally a big white sturgeon. A combination of the fishing, landscape, and the mighty Columbia River make this not just a fishing trip but a fishing adventure.

Most fish average in the 10 – 25 lb. range, but there is always a chance at 40+ lb. fish. The limit varies from year to year from 1 to 2 fish but it is typically 2 fish per person, and you are allowed to harvest hatchery origin and wild fish.  We will process your fish at the end of the trip however you would like them. Our professional guides are geared up with the best equipment, vessels, and knowledge to ensure you are safe and successful.  The primary technique used is trolling however this large stretch of river allows us to utilize multiple different fishing styles. This wild river section is home to these Chinook where they return to breed and produce the next generation of mighty king salmon. Since this is the spawning ground, these fish are aggravated and will give you a hard pulling heart pounding fight you won’t soon forget.

Our home base while we are fishing the Hanford reach is just upstream of the Vernita bridge. Vernita is about 45 minutes north of the tri cities and 30 minutes from Desert Aire, both of which have lodging accommodations. Guest’s with travel trailers or campers can also set up camp at the Vernita bridge camp ground. Keep in mind this location does not have hook ups so plan on bringing a generator.
