Fins & Feathers Guided Fishing Trips
on the Columbia River at Brewster WA.
One of the most popular fisheries in the northwest takes place in Brewster Washington, also known as the “Brewster pool” where the target species is sockeye. Sockeye is referred to by most as the tastiest of the salmon species. Brewster pool can only be described as action packed, both because of the type of bites you get and the close proximity of the hundreds of other boats. Kick back and relax with one of our experience guides navigating the gauntlet of boats while you enjoy reeling in some hard fighting sockeye. Although they are the smallest of the salmon species, the fight is exhilarating and will have everyone in your party grinning ear to ear, especially when it comes to enjoying them at the dinner table.
Sockeye aren’t all there is to be caught. Chinook salmon are frequently attracted to the sockeye gear and can also be targeted if you prefer or want to continue fishing after everyone has their limits of sockeye. Sockeye limits are usually 4 fish per person and you can expect the fish to weigh anywhere between 3 to 8 pounds. Since they are smaller, we use lighter equipment which makes the fight that much more fun and ensure a successful day on the water. Chinook can sometimes hook onto the lighter equipment which can also make things interesting from time to time.
This is a very popular fisheries and our available dates are limited, as well as hotel rooms. If you are coming to stay a night to fish with us, we suggest booking trips and hotel rooms in advance. Brewster has campground and hotels but they fill up fast. Pateros and Chelan are also close enough that we suggest looking into lodging accommodations in these cities as well. Brewster is a great trip for families with children because we do offer half day pricing which is 4 hours, plenty of time to catch your sockeye limits. This is an early morning fishery where you will typically meet your guide well before sunrise so plan accordingly.
